Running Lights

I’m still in the middle of many jobs, but the running lights are now installed. I put in the three across the front and decided I didn’t care for the look of the white plastic bases. The lights are the Starburst LED Marker Light from Vintage Trailer Supply. I decided to make aluminum bases for them to hide the plastic, similar to the ones I made for the tail lights. They are made from 3/8″ aluminum and are 7/16″ larger in diameter than the lights. I used a rotary table on a milling machine to cut them, then mounted them on a bolt which I chucked in a drill to polish them on a buffer. The larger bases also made it easier to cover the existing holes which didn’t match the placement of the new ones. I installed each base with a 5/32″ pop rivet top and bottom, and then 3/16″ pop rivets through the two holes in the light. I used TremPro 635 to seal them. If need be, a light can be removed without removing the base
